About Me
Brief history
I grew up in Rochester, New York. Throughout middle and high school, I excelled at math, but it wasn't until I took Physics in 11th grade that I found what I really wanted to do. I went on to major in Physics at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT, graduating in 2008.
Physics majors don't really have a clear path for their career. There are many professions a physics major could enter directly out of college, usually involving some kind of engineering. Law school, medical school, or a graduate physics program are also possibilities. As I considered what my next step would be, I happened to learn about the field of Medical Physics while attending the annual Four Corners meeting of the American Physics Society. As I looked into this field, I knew that this was the next step I wanted to take.
I went on to earn a Master's in Medical Physics at LSU, after which I completed a 2 year residency training program in Lafayette, LA. Since completing the program in 2013, I have worked continually at Philips, providing clinical physics support for users of the Pinnacle3 treatment planning system.
While continuing to work, I am currently pursuing a bachelor's in Software Engineering at Brigham Young University - Idaho.
